Made in the Czech republic / Bangladesh

We make clothes in the Czech republic.

For a couple of reaons.

We can control the production better. Communication with people nearby is always better, than mailing aroud the world, using Google translator four times. We test our products to improve details before we start producing. We dont have to make thousands of pieces in one model, size.

This process has its own price.

Big, global companies have a price for the products, too. They make clothes all around the world. The cheaper, the better. Workshops, where the clothes are made usually dont follow the contract, especially in the way of workers safety. People are working overtime on a daily basis for a few dollars per day. They are being locked during the night because a possibility of stealing. Literally risking their lives.

Below this post, you can wath a BBC documentary abou illegal working in Bangladesh. There are some big brands mentioned, which deny their participation immedeately afterwards.

The death is a daily routine here, last big one was a collapse of big manufacturing workshop in Rana Plaza, causing 1100 casualties on the spot.

Make your own opinion about the price of your t-shirt…
